Description
Concept
The concept is “Lead the next generation of kendama.”
A kendama that embodies evolution alongside the evolution of the player.
It is through challenges that skills are honed and craftsmanship evolves.
Technology, design, craftsmanship—
Aiming beyond the limits, everything is taken to the next stage.
A next-generation kendama for players who will forge the future is born.
Color Variations
3 colors in total
Charcoal gray: The shallow circular hole in the middle cup allows for a center of gravity closer to the middle cup. Stable sound and response when tapping. Ken length: 166mm
Shadow Gray: The middle cup has a 3-hole structure, allowing for a center of gravity closer to the center of the entire ken. An all-around model. Ken length: 165mm
Silver Gray: The middle cup has a 4-hole structure, resulting in a lighter weight and optimized center of gravity. Enhanced finger grip for flips and jugs. Ken length: 164mm
Recommended for those who:
– Want to confidently try new techniques and practice
– Are considering competitions and tournaments
– Want to reduce the stress of the ken and cup loosening and separating
Common features of the LEAD series:
1) [Patent pending] Screw-lock mechanism (screw fixing technology)
– Significantly reduces the risk of the ken and cup separating during play.
– Adjustable weight balance between the ken tip and the middle cup.
– Fine-tune the length of the ken tip (within ±3mm).
– Reduces wear on the ken caused by the string.
– Parts can be swapped between LEAD units.
2) 24.5φ ball hole diameter
3) Dual-angle chamfer on the rim of the plate (Revised double-angle edge, released in 2016)
– A high level of fit with the ball that was not possible with a brand new ken.
– The thickened edges improve durability and weight, while the chamfered edges give it a clean and neat appearance.
Shadow Gray Features
3-hole structure with the center of gravity closer to the center of the ken.
165mm total length optimizes rebound force for tapping and other tricks.
Tapered shape from the anti-slip to the middle cup improves strength.
The contact surface between the ball and the cup body is adjusted in 0.1mm increments to achieve a pleasant resonance in the high to mid-range.
The tone changes depending on where the middle cup hits.
Shadow Gray Recommended Tricks
Tapping, juggling, flipping, static tricks
Reason: The ken is thick and heavy, resulting in good rebound. Suitable for all-around use.
Track Record
The ken’s “Screw-lock mechanism” is an innovative technology previously unseen in the kendama world, and is patent pending (2025).
Packaging
This special edition uses high-grade suede fabric for a luxurious feel and is handcrafted one by one in Hatsukaichi City.
